Kissimmee, FL. June 16, 2007 Coy Dotson, an off-duty security officer had pulled into the 7-Eleven to get some gas when he witnessed a robbery in progess. He said that he noticed a man running and heard shots fired and watched as a man fled out of the store and jumped into a nearby pick-up truck. Dotson, along with the store clerk then chased the suspect onto Interstate 4 and notified police. Deputies entered the chase and boxed the suspect in on US Highway 192 where a stand off then caused near- by hotels to be evacuated after the suspect shot a deputy sheriff. The SWAT team finally ended the three hour stand off after shooting the suspect. Dotson told reporters that he was just in the right place at the right time and didn't think twice about giving chase. It just felt right he said.
