CHICAGO IL. Jan 5 2008 - Three men attacked a security patrol officer and stole his gun Friday night in the lobby of a Chicago Housing Authority building on the city's West Side, police said.The officer was patrolling a high-rise building in the 1500 block of 14th Place in the city's ABLA Homes complex about 6:30 p.m. when he was attacked, Monroe District Capt. John Kenny said.Kenny said the security officer, who works for a private security firm hired by the CHA, may have been attacked because he had prior run-ins with at least one of his assailants. No money was taken.


Police surrounded the complex, recovered the weapon and arrested one of the suspects shortly after the attack, Kenny said. The other two suspects were at large Friday night. The patrol officer suffered bruises but did not require hospitalization, he said.
