VIRTUAL MEMORIAL ANNOUNCED.......www.privateofficer.com

ATLANTA GEORGIA……..JUNE 17TH, 2007 A virtual on line memorial was announced today in Atlanta Georgia, home of the PrivateOfficer.com and the National Private Officers Association. Richard McCann, CEO said today that the NAPPO is planning on building an actual brick and mortar security guard museum and a memorial honoring the many private security officers who are killed in the line of duty each year. Despite the low wages, the inadequate training and the public opinion of security personnel, each officer risk their lives everyday in the performance of their duties no different than a law enforcement officer. The public isn’t aware of this and for the most part the death of a security officer goes unnoticed by the media McCann said. In fact, we have sixty to ninety security officers killed every year in the performance of their job and in many cases the deaths are brutual attacks on the guard who is just doing his job, trying to fulfill his obligations to his client and employer. The virtual memorial will be hosted at http://www.privateofficer.com/ and will list the names of all security officers killed in the line of duty since NAPPO started keeping records in 2004.
