SEBASTIAN FL Jan 2 2008— Three visitors from Georgia remained Monday in the Indian River County Jail after police accused them of stealing $680 worth of baby formula from Wal-Mart.
Jose del Carman Jimenez, 33, Daisy Carolina Suazo Cruz, 30, and Osman Antonio Galdino, 27, all of Atlanta, are charged with retail theft of more than $300, according to the Sebastian Police Department. Their bail is set at $25,000 each, reports show.
Police said officials with the Sebastian Wal-Mart on U.S. 1 spotted Cruz and Jimenez, via security cameras, placing “numerous” containers of baby formula in a shopping cart and leaving without paying about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police arrested them about an hour later, along with Galdino, who was identified as the driver of a sport-utility vehicle that Cruz and Jimenez entered in the parking lot, reports show.
The trio told police they had also taken baby formula from stores in Brevard, Orange and Hillsborough counties, and recently dropped off “five large trash bags” of formula to a Hillsborough address, reports state.Officers said the three are all undocumented immigrants and are considered flight risks.
