Seven people face charges from recent shoplifting incidents reported at stores in Park City shopping center, Lancaster police said.Loss prevention officers at Kohl's store spotted two young women attempting to steal more than $500 in clothing and jewelry at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.Arrested were Alisha N. Eagan, 19, of 228 N. 11th St., Akron, and Angela M. Whitman, 19, of 152 Parkview Heights Road, Ephrata.Eagan allegedly had cologne and jewelry valued at $178. Whitman allegedly had women's apparel and jewelry valued at $356.50, police said.Officer Christopher Genetti charged both women with retail theft.Also at Kohl's, police arrested Elizabeth J. Paxson, 19, of 13 Sunrise Drive, Nottingham, and a 17-year-old girl for suspected retail theft shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday.Paxson allegedly concealed about $79 worth of clothing and jewelry in her purse, and the 17-year-old allegedly concealed about $126 worth of clothing and jewelry in her purse, Officer William Genetti said.James D. James, 44, of 324 Mill St., was charged with retail theft and possession of crack cocaine Tuesday night after a foot pursuit from Boscov's store at Park City, police said.James allegedly tried to take 15 pairs of jeans and five long-sleeve shirts having a total value of $653.85, police said. He was committed to Lancaster County Prison in default of $10,000 bail after being charged by Officer Joseph Harris.Melody A. Umbenhauer, 19, of 403 W. James St., and Karla S. Smith, 20, of 325 Frytown Road, Myerstown, were charged with retail theft after a Saturday night incident at Boscov's, police said.Umbenhauer was caught allegedly taking a necklace and set of earrings valued at $65. Smith concealed about $257 worth of merchandise in her purse, police said.Also charged with retail theft were:• John M. Emig, 23, of 1342 Union St. City police said he took about $50 worth of merchandise Sunday at Weis Markets, 1204 Millersville Pike, at the Manor Shopping Center.• Mark A. Dowlen, 40, who is homeless, City police said he took food items valued at about $15 Saturday afternoon from display shelves at Lancaster General Hospital.• Kyle D. Stevenson, 19, of Lemon Street, East Petersburg. Manheim Township police have cited him for retail theft Dec. 1 at the Turkey Hill Minit Market, 5959 Main St., East Petersburg. Police said Stevenson failed to pay for a $1.99 energy drink.
